Lucille L. Egolf, age 95, of Columbia City, IN died at 2:55 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Miller's Merry Manor, Inc., Columbia City. She was born in Columbia Township, Whitley County, IN on May 22, 1911 to Benjamin Ernest and Nellie Eva (Jagger) Hively.

A lifetime Whitley County resident, she was raised in Columbia Township. She moved to her Park Street home in March, 1940. She attended Hoop Elementary School, Thorncreek Township, and Columbia City High School, graduating with the Class of 1929. On April 2, 1933, she married Everett Edward Egolf in Collins, Whitley County, IN. He passed away on May 4, 1988.

Retiring in 1976, she worked 35 years as a seamstress for the Blue Bell, Inc., making blue jeans. In her spare time, she was a quilter and gardener.

Survivors include a son, Ronald D. (Phyllis) Egolf, Columbia City, IN; 2 daughters, Carolyn (Leon) Burrey, Roanoke, IN; Pamalyn (Donald) Endsley, Warren, IN; 11 grandchildren including Douglas E. and Dennis M. Egolf, David A. (Cathy) Gardner, Diane M. (Dennis) Sheets, and Sherry R. (Jack) Morgan all of Columbia City, Tracy R. (Bryan) Nall of Huntington, IN, Trisha M. (Michael) Gonzales of Roanoke, IN, Tammy N. (Jay) Aldrich of Fort Wayne, IN, Paul (Cindy) Burrey and Cindy Arnold of Roanoke, IN and Doug Burrey of Monroeville, IN, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Everett Edward Egolf, she was preceded in death by a son, Rodger Lee Egolf, who was killed in the Viet Nam War in 1966, and sister, Beatrice Hively Moog.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2006 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Martin, First Church of God Associate Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City, IN. Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Egolf's memory to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
