Notes:	Brian Eugene Burns, 57, died at 8:11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, at his home. He was born on April 18, 1962 in Whitley County [Indiana], a son of Wila Deane (Butler) Burns and the late Lowell E. Burns. Brian graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1981. Brian always made his home in Whitley County. Brian worked for Dana in Syracuse for 15 years until he began driving semi-truck under his own authority. He was a member of American Legion Post Riders 98 and Echoes of the Past Tractor Club. Brian loved his family and friends, Harley Davidson, antique tractors, and landscaping. He enjoyed cooking and made the best sloppy joes from scratch. He is survived by his children, Heather (Jacob) Oliver of Hubert, NC and Travis (Kaitlin) Burns of Kingwood, TX, grandchildren, Addie Burns, Rory Burns, and Andrew Oliver, mother, Wila Deane Burns of Columbia City, sister, Sharon (Timothy) Hendricks of Prospect Heights, IL, and significant other, Corky Amable of Larwill. Visitation will be on Sunday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home with burial following at Scott-Keister Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to American Legion Post 98 Riders.
