Notes:	Carol Diane Wood, 59, of Huntington [Indiana], died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2020 at Millers Merry Manor East, Wabash where she was a resident since February 18th. She was born October 12, 1960 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Geraldine M. (Pease) Russell. She spent her formative year in Whitley County and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1979. On January 11, 1985 she was united in marriage to Bryan G. Wood. They made their home in Columbia City and for the past 29 years, Huntington. A full-time homemaker, she raised the couple’s three children and worked for a few years at area nursing homes in interior maintenance. Her priority was always her family and later, her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and assisted with the Special Olympics. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bryan; a daughter, Samantha A. (Tomas) Valdez, Huntington; two sons, Jeffrey A. (Bridget) Wood, Andrews, and Luke A. Wood, Huntington, grandchildren, Jade, Alyssa, Saddie, Zitlalic, Javier, Lucia; step-mother, Nancy Russell; brothers, Jim (Peg) Russell, Churubusco, Larry (Pat) Russell, Columbia City, George (Michelle) Russell, South Whitley and Austin Russell, Terre Haute; sisters, Laura Russell and Jean Russell both of Terre Haute. Additionally, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Elston and Deborah Lyons. The funeral service is at 1 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is at the Union Twp. Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to final expenses c/o Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
