Georgia Ann Ballard, 41 died Wednesday morning, Aug. 3, 1994 at her home in Indianapolis. She had been in failing health for several months.

She was born Jan. 23, 1953, in Columbia City, a daughter of Vernon Adolph and Annabelle Miller Saggars. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School and then from Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne in June, 1975 as a dental hygienist.

She had been employed as a dental hygienist for many years and was last employed by Dr. William Tellman, Indianapolis.

She was united in marriage to William Perry Ballard on July 12, 1975, and they have made their home in Indianapolis all but one year of their married life, which was spent in Kokomo.

She was a member of the Dental Hygiene Association and was affiliated with St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Indianapolis.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Ballard and a son, Matthew William Ballard, both at home; her parents, Vernon and Annabelle Saggars of rural Columbia City’ three brothers, Vernon Adair Saggars, John Wayne Saggars, and Keith Edward Saggars, all of rural Columbia City’ and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn brother, Jerry Kent Saggars.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Smith and Sons funeral Home, Columbia City, with Pastor Orlo Hibbs, officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, and two hours before the service on Friday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.

The burial will be in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.

For those who wish, memorials may be made in the Kimberly and Matthew Ballard Educational Fund.
