Notes:	Greg Lee Newman, age 56, died at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2007 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, IN where he had been admitted on Wednesday. He was born in Fort Wayne, Allen County, IN on November 21, 1950 to Paul and Lucille L.(Doctor) Newman. He was a lifetime Whitley County resident, living in Coesse and at his present home for the past 16 1/2 years. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1969. He was in the Army Artillery Combat Leadership Unit, serving in the United States Army from 1970-1972. He married Karen S. Ehle on July 28, 1990 in Fort Wayne, IN. His employment included International Harvester for 7 years, United Technologies for 13 years, Auburn Gear for 7 years and he currently was employed at Medtronic Sofamor Danek for the past 5 years. He was a member of Coesse United Methodist Church, Whitley County Barnstormer R. C. Airplane Club and Whitley Wings Motorcycle Club. He is survived by his wife, Karen S. Newman, Columbia City, IN; father, Paul Newman, Columbia City, IN; 1daughter, Tiffany (Mike) Murphy, Ossian, IN; 3 grandchildren, Chelsey Newman, Taylor and Gavin Murphy; 2 brothers, Paul L. Newman, Columbia City and Kenneth (Tracey) Newman, Florence, AL; 3 sisters, Paula (Doyle) Acres, Salida, CO and MarDee (Andy) McCoy and Lou Ann (Bill) McCoy, Columbia City, IN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille L. Newman. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 p.m. with funeral service at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2007 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside, Columbia City, IN. Pastor Jeff Boyle, of Coesse United Methodist Church will officiate. Memorial bequests may be given in Mr. Newman's memory to the American Cancer Society or Coesse United Methodist Church.
