Notes:	Terry L. Mathias, 61, of Huntington died peacefully at his home Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 5:50 a.m. He was born December 8, 1948 at Lucky Hospital, Wolf Lake. He was raised by his mother Maxine C. Mathias Dutkus and step-father, Frank J. Dutkus. His formative years were spent in Columbia City where he attended elementary school. He graduated from Columbia City High School in 1968. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy on August 21, 1968. He was released from active duty on May 21, 1970 and then served with the Naval Reserves until August 20, 1974. Returning to the area, he began his work career with Gripco, South Whitley and later was transferred to Montpelier which is now Emhart Teknologies, LLC a Black & Decker Company. He had 29 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 98, Columbia City and Union Church at the Vine, Huntington. He is survived by three brothers, Randy Dutkus, Huntington Beach, CA, Max (Susan) Beasley, Jr., Plymouth and Mike (Pam) Beasley, Columbia City. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Pastor Troy Mower of Union Church at the Vine, Huntington, officiating. Burial will be in the South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City. The visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service. Preferred memorials are to Union Church at the Vine, Huntington.
