Randall J. "Randy" Williams, 58, Columbia City, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 9, 2004) at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Williams was the owner and president of Economy Machine Products Inc., Roanoke, where he had worked in the family business for 50 years and became owner in 1981.

He was a 1964 graduate of Columbia City High School where he was valedictorian of his class. He graduated summa cum laude from Indiana Institute of Technology in 1968.

Mr. Williams was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, and American Legion Post 160, Roanoke. He was a senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and was a member of the Pontiac Oakland Club International. He served in the Indiana National Guard from 1968-74.

He was an avid collector and restorer as well as a respected authority on early '60s Super Duty Pontiacs. He and his wife Jean were Roanoke Citizens of the Year in 2000.

He was born Aug. 11, 1946 in Fort Wayne, a son of James J. and Betty Z. Hollenbaugh Williams. His parents survive in Roanoke. He married Carol Jean Smart in Huntington on Sept. 26, 1970. His wife also survives.

Other survivors include a son, Jerod Williams, Huntington; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Julie A.) Hartmus, Roanoke; a sister, Tamara Williams, Garrett; and three granddaughters.

Calling is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., and from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., with Father Gary Sigler presiding. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
