Robert Gene Mosher, 57, a resident of Columbia City,died Thursday morning, September 26, 2002 in Twelve Oaks Hospital North Campus in Houston, Texas, where he was admitted on September 7th. Born November 30, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was a son of Robert Eugene and Dorothy (Fulk) Mosher.

His formative years were spent in Columbia City and he graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1963. He later graduated from National Barber College.

On June 2, 1966 he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged January 11, 1968.

On October 8, 1966 he was united in marriage to Edwinia Kincaid. They made their home in Guam then Huntington until 1970 when they moved to rural Columbia City. They have made their home on North Main Street since 1976.

He was a barber for many years including Mosher's Barber Shop since 1970.

He was a member of Community Bible Church and NRA.

Survivors include his wife, Edwinia; a son, Jason Mosher of Columbia City; a daughter; Molly (James) Palmer of Columbia City; a granddaughter, Olivia, Grace Palmer; his mother, Dorothy Mosher of Columbia City; a brother, Roger (Sherry) Mosher of Batavia, NY; ,a sister, Lonnie (Don) Gillespie of Endicott, NY; and two nieces, Amy Phister and Melanie Mosher.

The funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 30, at Smith and Sons Funeral Home; Columbia City with Rev. John Cummins and Rev. Curtiss Johnson officiating. The burial will be in Eberhard Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
