Notes:	Jay C. Knisely, 81, of Columbia City, died peacefully at his home at 2:27 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023. Born on December 3, 1941, in Whitley County, Indiana, he was a son of the late Willard and Ethel (Chapman) Knisely. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1959. Through the years, he had worked at Weatherhead, then Essex Wire and Challenge Door and retired from Jeldwen. In his spare time, Jay enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are his daughters, Sherri Knisely of Kendallville and Denise R. Knisely of Kimmell; grandson, Adam L. Knisely of Kendallville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents. As per Jay’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be at a later date at Thorn Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
