Notes:	William R. Yaney Jr., 78, of Churubusco, died at 1:42 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Lutheran Life Villages, Fort Wayne where he had been a resident for the past few years. He was born April 8, 1939 in Peru, Indiana a son of William Ralph and Esther (Biggs) Yaney. As a young boy his family moved to Columbia City from Peru. He graduated from Columbia City High School, received his bachelor degree in education from Manchester College and his Masters degree from St. Francis College. On August 17, 1969 he was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Jenkins. They made their home in Churubusco. Bill started teaching in northern Indiana at Thorncreek School and then 3rd and 4th grades at Churubusco School until retiring in 1990. He was a member of Churubusco United Methodist Church. Surviving relatives include his wife, Joyce; a son, Patrick (Florentina) Yaney of Fort Wayne; and two granddaughters, Bianca and Anamaria. His sister, Marjory Brown, preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Churubusco United Methodist Church.
