Notes:	William E. "Gene" Brown, 69, of Sheffield Lake died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, following a lengthy illness. Born June 25, 1939, at Connersville, Ind., he moved to Sheffield Lake from the Canton area eight years ago. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in the special forces from 1961-1967. Employed for 43 years with the steel industry, more than 20 of them with Republic Steel in the Canton, Massilon and Lorain plants, he was later employed as a radiology technician with the Cleveland Clinic for five years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Avon Lake. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Linda (Andres) Brown; three sons, Gregory (and wife, Joanna) of North Canton, Douglas K. (Peg) of Columbus and Patrick (Katrina) of Canton; and four grandchildren, Seth, Cameron, Spencer and Maxwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul R. and Gladys F. (Williams) Brown; and a brother, Gerald Brown. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-7 p.m. in the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake. Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church, 32607 Electric Blvd., Avon Lake, with Pastor David Skelton to officiate. Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Brown Cemetery, Bryan. Wayne. Sept. 61 - June 64 U.S.Army Special Forces Returned to Joslyn, met Linda and we were married in Feb. of 65. Started at Purdue (Ft.Wayne). Completed 2 year Industrial Engineering Degree 73, and BS Industrial Management 76. Relocated to Canton, Ohio to work for Republic Steel 1976. MBA Ashland University 1996 (Executive Management) Worked for Birmingham Steel, Jackson, MS 1997-1999, returned to Republic Steel 2000-2002. Completed Associate Degree in Applied Science (Radiology) Cuyahoga Community College 2005, presently employeed at The Cleveland Clinic. We have three sons(Greg, Doug, Pat). Linda has been a great helper and companion for these last 40 years and we are looking forward to many more.
