Notes:

Donald E. Felger, 83, of Fort Wayne, went to meet Jesus on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born February 9, 1938 in Columbia City, he was the son of Charles Felger and Kathryn (Lamle) Gumm.

He spent most of his life in Whitley and Allen County. Don graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1956. In 1960, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served for six years. On April 12, 1974, he married Beverly (Herendeen) Akers. Donald worked for 35 years for the K-Mart Distribution Center between Fort Wayne and Manteno, Illinois. He was a member of The Chapel.

Don enjoyed the opportunity for the Honor Flight of Northeast Indina. He enjoyed working, coon hunting and fishing with his wife. They also loved bird watching and traveling in their fifth wheel around the countryside along with a trip to Alaska. Aside from being an avid birder, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and found relaxation being outdoors. In recent years he and Bev also found relaxation by wintering in Florida.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Bev Felger; children, Doug (Marilyn) Akers, Pam (Rod) Adams and Rick (Andrea) Baker; brothers, Thomas (Bonnie) Felger and Ned (Ruby) Felger; sister, Joan Binkley; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Glen Felger; and step-father, Thurman Gum.

Visitation will be 12 to 4 pm Sunday, November 28, 2021 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Hawks officiating. Burial will take place at Eel River Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given in memory to The Chapel or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
