Ruth Marie Cramer, 82, of Thorncreek Township, Whitley County, died at 7:59 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

She was born November 1, 1935 in Thorncreek Township, Whitley County a daughter of James William and Elsie Pearl (Coverstone) Cramer.

She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1954, attended LaSalle Correspondence School for bookkeeping and International Correspondence School, NRI with highest honors for paralegal and also classes through H & R Block.

Ruth worked at the Columbia City License Bureau, a law office for a year, Republican Headquarters, Columbia Engineering over four years, BRC Rubber, Towerview Industries, Senior Citizens Center, Second Time Around and Parkview Whitley Hospital. She was also an Avon representative from 1969 until 1982.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Eva Mae Maxwell; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and a brother, Paul Cramer, preceded her in death.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation after 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
