Notes:

Lawrence "L.B." Blanchard, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at the age of 88.

He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Sept. 18, 1935, to Walter Lewis Blanchard and Mildred A. Blanchard (Phillips).

L.B. led a fulfilling life built on hard work and cherished relationships. After graduating from Columbia City High School in 1953, he embarked on a journey that would span over five decades as a truck driver.

He joined the United States Army, where he also worked as a truck driver.

After being honorably discharged, L.B. worked for various companies throughout his career, with his most recent employment at Metzger and Mercer Trucking. He retired in 2008. L.B. traveled millions of miles throughout the U.S. and Canada in his career.

L.B. always enjoyed coffee with his friends at the coffee shop. He and his friends were the "Liars Table." He was a longtime member of both American Legion Post 98 and AmVets Post 2919, along with formerly being a member of the Masonic Lodge.

L.B. also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and IU Basketball, and bird watching by the pond.

Above all else, L.B. loved his family. His love for his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, knew no bounds.

He is survived by his sons, Bryan (Connie) Blanchard, of South Whitley and Joe (Suzanne) Meggison, of Ashland, Illinois; his daughters, Shea Blanchard, of Huntington and Taylor Blanchard, of Wabash; grandchildren, Josie, Gentry, Gabby and Jaxon; and his sister, Velma Woll. He is also survived by his late wife, Regina's children and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Phyllis; second wife, Zola; and sister, Beth Cramer.

Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of L.B. and his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
