Notes:	Mary Ann Loe, 83, of rural Columbia City, died Monday morning, February 20, 2017 at her home. She was born December 8, 1933 in Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of the late John and Vivian (Roth) Gillespie. Her formative years were spent in Columbia Township where she attended elementary school. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1953. On January 9, 1987, she married Richard Lee Loe. They made their home in Smith Township. Mary Ann worked for 29 years in the accounting department for Essex, Columbia City which later became United Technologies. She attended Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Columbia City and was a member of VFW Post 5582 Auxiliary, Columbia City and American Legion Post 98 Auxiliary. She was skilled with computers and enjoyed playing games on them as her health and mobility decreased. She was an avid reader and collected cookbooks. She also enjoyed sewing. She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick"; two daughters, LuAnn Schuman, Albion and Marsha (Dean) Niccum, Columbia City; two step-children, Leanna (Thomas) Trier and Scott Loe, both of Columbia City; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister, Janet Schuman and first husband, Dick Schuman. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. Preferred memorials are to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
