Notes:	Joan L. (Schrader) Stayer, 84, of Lafayette, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014, at St. Anthony Healthcare Center. Born Oct. 28, 1929, in Columbia City, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Margaret (Stigman) Schrader. Joan was raised in Columbia City and graduated from Columbia City High School and went on to graduate from Indiana Business College. Her marriage was to Dale Eugene Stayer Feb. 1, 1951, in Columbia City, and he survives. Joan was a self-employed beer distributor for more than 25 years, having lived in North Manchester, Logansport, Goodland and moving to Lafayette three years ago. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joan was a very giving person to her family and friends and was a devoted wife to her husband, Dale, for the past 63 years. In addition to her husband Dale, Joan is survived by two sons, Mark Stayer (Donna) of West Lafayette and Tom Stayer (Sue) of Carmel; six grandchildren, Michael Stayer, Scott Stayer (Leah), Mitch Stayer (Amy), Andy Stayer, David Stayer, and Zack Stayer, along with six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Schrader. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Nolt Cemetery in Columbia City.
