Betty J. "Gram" Manns, 78, of Columbia City, IN passed away Friday, January 4, 2008 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. Born April 29, 1929 in Columbia City, IN, she was the daughter of George and Mary C. (Marker) Morrissey

She graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 1947 and from Wayne Cosmetology, Fort Wayne, IN. On July 2, 1947 she was united in marriage to Roy L. Manns in Columbia City, IN who preceded her in death on April 11, 1978.

A lifetime resident of Columbia City, IN she was the owner and operator of Mann's Salon as well as a homemaker, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Columbia City Eagles Auxiliary #1906, Columbia City VFW Auxiliary Post #5582, Columbia City American Legion Auxiliary Post #98 and Columbia City Moose Lodge Auxiliary.

Survivors include 2 grandsons, Scott (Scarlet) Geist, Larwill, IN, and Todd R. (Andrea) Davis, Fort Wayne, IN; 1 granddaughter, Keely Davis, Roanoke, IN; sister, Madalyn Rex, Columbia City, IN; son-in-law, James Davis, Columbia City, IN; sister-in-law, Marilyn Morrissey, Columbia City, IN; and 5 great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Sydney, and Nyssa Timm, Aliace Davis and Malorie Sexton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy L. Manns, daughter, Cathy Davis, 2 brothers, Richard and William Morrissey, sister, Valetta Mantle and nephew, John Manns.

Visitation is 10-1 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN with the funeral service immediately following at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Wagner of Collamer Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Nolt Cemetery, Columbia City, IN.

Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Manns to St. Joseph Medical Center burn unit or the Columbia City Fire Department, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. To send condolences or sign the guest register book, please visit www.demoneygrimes.com.
