Notes:

Mary C. "CeCe" Smith, 86, entered into Heaven peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, April 11, 2014. She was born to the late Theodore and Mary Ida (Walter) Essig.

She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family, teaching them to love the Lord. Many lives were enriched by her servant's heart and gentle, kind spirit. She ministered to others by serving in the United Methodist Church of Fort Wayne and El Paso. She gave her time, care and concern to all. Many Cub Scouts, Girls Scouts, Optimist Club members, Sunday school children and neighbors were well loved by her.

She will be missed for her loving heart, smiles, great cooking, kindness, generosity, helpfulness, and joyful spirit. Her greatest joy was playing with her 19 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Sue Ellen) Smith of Aurora, IL, Randall (Olga) Smith, Amy (Michael) Pressler both of Fort Wayne, Douglas (Kay) Smith of New Haven, and Matthew Smith of Fort Wayne. CeCe was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Norman Smith, grandson Adam, and great-granddaughter Emily.

Service is 11:00 am, Thursday, April 17, 2014 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior. Calling at the funeral home Wednesday, April 16, 2014 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco, Indiana.
