Robert C. Miller, 84, of Plymouth died at 12 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor in Plymouth. He had been in declining health for a couple of years.

Born May 22, 1926 in Columbia City, he was a son of William and Margaurite (Klingaman) Miller. He graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1944 and served honorably and proudly in the U.S. Army in Europe from Sept. 6, 1944 to June 21, 1946 during World War II, receiving a Bronze Star for bravery while serving.

He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Lou Meier, Jan. 18, 1945 in Columbia City and together they shared 64 years with each other. She preceded him in death Dec. 31, 2007.

He was employed with Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne from 1945 until 1976, retiring from management. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 98 and the Big Lake Church of God, all in Columbia City.

Survivors include a son, John (Shari) Miller of Plymouth; grandchildren, Bill (Julia) Miller of Plymouth and Jodi Coyle of Columbia City; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ann (Richard) Hyndman of Columbia City.

Beside his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Miller and a brother, Lewis Miller.

Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan Street in Argos. Services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Mace officiating.
