Notes:

RUTH ANN FRY, 82, a resident of the Oaks Living Center for the past 5 years, died at 10:51 am Thursday, April 27, 2006 in the Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.

She was born on October 11, 1923 in Columbia City, a daughter of Theron Marvin Scott and Fay (Trumbull) Scott. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City where she graduated from the Columbia City High School. Class of 1941.

On January 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Herbert E. Fry. After her husband completed his schooling in Bloomington, IN, they moved to South Whitley. In 1956, they moved to Columbia City.

Mrs. Fry was employed by the Murphy Jewelry Store, Columbia City from 1965 to 1990.

She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and Tri Kappa.

The surviving relatives include her two daughters, Amy (Gary) Carlisle, Columbia City, Lisa (Richard) Hockemeyer, South Whitley; two sons, Eric Fry of Long Island, NY and E. Munson Fry of Columbia City; grandchildren, Lance and Brent Carlisle, Leah Adang Fry, Brandy Busz, David Telenius and Brandy Johnson; three step grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; one sister, Margaret Bloom and one brother, Adrian Scott.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, May 1st at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. Larry Schmoekel, officiating. The burial will be at the South Park Cemetery, Columbia City. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.

For those who prefer, memorials may be made to Parkview Home Health Care and Hospice or the Whitley County Humane Society.
