Gail Franklin Evans, 91, died Jan. 29, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Hospital, Beaver, Pa. Born in Columbia City, Aug. 31, 1923, he was the son of the late Fred Linville Evans and Grace (Shafer) Evans.

He was a graduate of Columbia City High School in 1941 and a graduate of Findlay College, Ohio in 1950.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 282nd Engineer Combat Battalion in the European Campaign and received three battle stars including the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a retired chemist of 33 years from ARCO Chemical Company, Monaca, Pa. He was also a long time member of the First Church of God in New Brighton, Pa.

He was preceded in death by brother, Herbert Evans in 1945; sister, Doris Trumbull in 2003; grandson, Adam Fraser in 2006; sister, Mae Blue in 2009; and brother, Jackson Evans in 2012.

Surviving family include his wife of 66 years, Martha Beach Evans, of Brighton Township, Beaver County, Pa.; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Nancy Evans, of Spring Mills, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Evans-Kanell and Jim Kanell, of Sewickley, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Deanne and Lester Fraser, of Hopewell Township, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Daniel Albers, of Brighton Township, Pa.; Grandchildren, Brian Sullivan and Amy Sullivan Greene, Heidi Coburn, Christopher Yorks and Kate Sanfilippo; great-grandchildren, Dalton Fraser, Eve Fraser, Stephanie Coburn, Brody Greene, Aubrey Sanfilippo, JoAnn Sanfilippo, Grace Yorks and Cecelia Yorks; brother, Richard Evans, of Decatur; and Melba Stidham, of Columbia City.

There will be no viewing. Burial of the ashes will be in Hickory Grove Church of God Cemetery, Village of Pearl, Victory Township, Venango County, Pa.

Services were handled by the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, Pa. Online condolences may be shared at www.nollfuneral.com.
