MaraLee Ellen Snodgrass Jagger, 83, a resident of Columbia City, died at 10:05 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2006 at The Oaks Living Center where she had been a resident since February 15, 2006.

She was born November 11, 1922 in Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of Harry and Tressa Neoma (Dinius) Osborn. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City. She was educated in the West Ward School and graduated from Columbia City High School in 1940.

On May 25, 1940 she was united in marriage to William C. Snodgrass. In 1944 they moved to a farm in Etna Troy Township. Mr. Snodgrass died February 9, 1983.

She was employed at Whitley County Co-op, later Noble-Whitley County Coop, for 25 years.

On February 2, 1985 she was united in marriage to Gerald W. Jagger. They made their home on the Jagger farm in Thorncreek Township. Mr. Jagger died June 30, 2003.

She attended St. Matthews United Methodist Church and was a member of First Church of God, Whitley County Extension Homemakers since 1941 where she served as past president, vice president and secretary, and Thorncreek Township Home Demonstration Club.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mary A. (Rex) Juillerat of Larwill and Martha J. Bolinger of South Whitley; three step sons, Gail M. (Patty) Jagger, Gary D. Jagger and Kevin L. (Dana) Jagger, all of Columbia City; six grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 21 step great grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Osborn of Citrus Springs, Florida.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a step son, Richard Jagger; a son-in-law, Daniel Bolinger; a step grandson; and a brother, Benjamin Osborn.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. Gene Rohrer officiating. The burial will be in Pleasant Grove (Snodgrass) Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.
