Notes:

Cecelia Evelyn Hood Obermiller left this earth on May 8, 2009 after 88 years, despite living with a debilitating disease for the latter part of her life.

Beginning in High School, continuing through attendance at the University of Maryland and a brief business career, she was known as an accomplished pianist and instrumentalist as well as serving as music director in several churches at various times in her lifetime.

Married to Lt. Col. James E. Obermiller in April 1942, she accompanied him for over 20 years during service in the US Air Force as well as a succeeding 35 year career in private life. An enthusiastic quilter, florist and piano accompanist, her talents in these areas were well recognized.

Evelyn is survived by her husband; two sons, retired Air Force Colonel Terry Lee Obermiller, Robert Alan Obermiller, an executive serving in the oil services industry, and daughter, Lynne Ann Obermiller Landreth, an administrative assistant for a children's author. Additionally, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren will mourn her passing.

A Memorial Service will be held in the High Flight Chapel at Air Force Village II at 2 p.m. May 13, 2009 following a family burial service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, tributes may be donated to the Freedom House Alzheimer's Research Fund at Air Force Village II, San Antonio, TX.
