Mildred L. Langohr, 93, of Columbia City, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor where she had been a resident since March 2006.

She was born January 14, 1915 in Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of Charles and Fannie (Hartman) Gradeless. She attended Etna School and graduated from Columbia City High School.

On March 14, 1936 she was united in marriage to Franklin S. Langohr. With the exception of two years in Fort Wayne, they made their home in Columbia City, moving to Barbara Drive in 1961. Mr. Langohr died September 19, 2000.

She was employed at Wayne Pump during World War II for two years, Wayne Knitting Mill after the war for three years and later Blue Bell for six years.

Her memberships include Grace Lutheran Church and Town & Country Home Demonstration Club.

Surviving relatives include a son, Timothy Franklin (Susan) Langohr of Columbia City; two grandsons, Ti (Shirley) Langohr and Chad (Michelle) Langohr, both of Columbia City; three great grandchildren, Trevor Langohr, Jessica (Ryan) Sims and Jami Langohr; and a sister, Evelyn Schwartz of South Whitley.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Fern Robinette, Edith Goings, Orpha Juillerat and Flossie King.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. Dr. C. James Cress, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. The burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
