Notes:	Jean M. Benson, 99, of Columbia City, died Monday morning, November 24, 2014 at Parkiew Pointe where she had been a resident since 2006. She was born October 3, 1915 in Columbia City, Indiana a daughter of Delmor and Ethel (Reese) Mosher. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1933 and International Business College. She was employed at Farmers Loan & Trust, Woolen Mill and was a Deputy for Whitley County Auditor. On April 16, 1955 she was united in marriage to David S. Benson. They made their home in Fort Wayne until moving to Wilmington, Delaware in December 1956. Mr. Benson died May 13, 1972. In 1979 Jean moved to Stuart, Florida until returning to Fort Wayne in April 1987. Her memberships included First Methodist Church in Stuart, Florida; Fort Wayne Women's Club and Newcomer's Club. Surviving relatives include a sister, AnnaDean Schrader of Columbia City. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Mosher; and two sisters, Gayle Stayer and Joy Schrader. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation after 2 p.m. Wednesday. The burial will be in Eberhard Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.
