of Columbia City, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne where he was admitted on June 10th.

He was born March 8, 1929 in Fort Wayne, Indiana a son of Clarence A. "Booney" and Elizabeth S. (George) Feist. His formative years were spent in Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City High School in 1947.

On November 22, 1950 he was drafted in the United States Army, serving six years until his honorable discharge.

On January 31, 1951 he married Edna Gay Grable. They made their first home in West Point, Kentucky, returning to Whitley County at the end of the Korean War. In 1958 they moved to Churubusco from Tri Lakes. In 1970 they moved to Fort Wayne until 1973 when they moved to their home east of Columbia City. Mrs. Feist died December 13, 1976.

In 1953 he established Feist Auto Service. From 1958 until his retirement in 1984 he owned and operated Booney's CB Shop.

On March 16, 1979 he married Joy A. Wolfe Mishler. Mrs. Feist died April 1, 1991.

His memberships include Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion for 62 years, Vogue Country Club where he served as past president and lifetime member of American Motorcycle Association.

Surviving relatives include three children, Mista Feist, Connie John (Jane) Feist and Neecy Feist, all of Columbia City; six grandchildren, Morgan Witte and Bristol Witte, Colin (Kelly) Clifford, Bryton, Gason and Shay Feist; and three great grandchildren, Howard and Phoebe Regan Clifford and Azul Witte Miranda.

Two daughters, Mona Rae Witte and Regan Feist, preceded him in death.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery with military honors presented by Whitley County Korean War Veterans Honor Guard.

Preferred memorials are to American Legion Post #98 or Booney's funeral fund payable to Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
