Husband John passed away in 2002:

TULIA - John J. Randall, 81, died Friday, July 26, 2002.

Private graveside services will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home.

Mr. Randall was born Aug. 15, 1920, in Callao, Mo. He grew up in Callao and graduated high school there. He married Ellen "Penny" Pence on Dec. 7, 1945, in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He served in the Air Force from 1943 to 1970. He served in the European Theater during World War II and in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He retired as a lieutenant colonel.

He graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor of science degree in agronomy and plant sciences in 1974. He moved to Tulia in 1974 and was active in community organizations and civic clubs. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice P. Bledsoe and John A. Randall; and two sisters, Jane Bootman and Joann Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen; a son, Geoffrey J. Randall and his wife, Kathee, of Montgomery Village, Md.; and two grandsons, Jason Randall and Jeremy Randall, both of Montgomery Village.

The family suggests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church, 113 N. Donley St., Tulia, TX 79088; Swisher County Senior Citizens, 609 S.E. Second St., Tulia, TX 79088; or to a favorite charity.
