of Anacortes, Washington passed away on February 19, 2012 at his home in Anacortes.He was born in Columbia City, Indiana on July 10, 1922, the son of Fred and Grace Evans.

Jack was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army.He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in math and chemistry and worked for Texaco Refinery in Port Arthur, Texas and Anacortes for 34 years before retiring on his beloved farm in Anacortes.

Jack was a Christian man with Christian principles and a proud and patient grandpa. He was an avid newspaper reader, but still maintained time for his family, fishing, raising beef cows, and gardening. He was also a Gideon and member of Summit Park Bible Church.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Gloria Wifler.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; daughter, Elizabeth Cossell of Mount Vernon; sons, Wallace Evans of El Mirage, AZ, Roger Ev
ans of Anacortes, and Philip of Bellingham; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all family and friends for their prayers, kind words, and phone calls.

Interment, with full military honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Fernhill Cemetery in Anacortes. A memorial service will follow graveside at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Summit Park Bible Church in Anacortes.
