Notes:

Talen Ray Howenstine, age 28 of Fishers, IN was called into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday July 4th, 2023.

Talen was born October 18, 1994, in Fort Wayne, spending most of his childhood in Columbia City and later in Naples, FL. Talen is the son of Trevor and Niki Howenstine.

Talen graduated in 2012 attending both Columbia City and DeKalb High Schools. He is also a graduate of Life Challenge Ministries in 2022.

Talen worked for Goodwill Industries and was recently named Employee of the Month in June.

Talen enjoyed playing video games, skateboarding, biking, camping, boating, and anything that involved being outdoors. He grew up a competitive swimmer setting many local records in his events.

Talen was best known for his fierce sense of humor and always found joy in making others laugh. He had the most genuine heart and was extremely protective of those he loved. Talen had a deep love for children and animals, and both were very drawn to him. He had an unending compassion for homeless individuals and gave his all to help those in need. Talen loved Jesus and was known to talk openly about his faith in hopes of leading others to Christ.

He will forever live in the hearts of his mother Niki (Don Gentry) Howenstine of Fishers; father Trevor (Mary) Howenstine of Naples, FL; sisters Brookelyn (Kyle) Brown of Columbia City and Natasha (Michael Wright) Howenstine of Garrett; grandparents Greg & Michele Brockhaus of New Palestine, Karen Howenstine of Fort Wayne and Steve Howenstine of Sebring, FL; nephews Jonas, Zander, and River; niece Marley, and beloved dog Londyn.

He was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by his uncle Travis Howenstine.

A life celebration for Talen will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. There will be visitation for family and friends from 1:00-4:00 pm prior to the service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Talen may be made to ASPCA or your local Humane Society.
