Notes:	Tristan Andrew Bender, 26, of Columbia City, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in an automobile accident. He was born February 22, 1987 in Whitley County, Indiana a son of Daryl A. and Colleen S. (Hoffman) Bender. He attended Columbia City High School and achieved his GED through Ivy Tech in 2009. Employed in the fast food industry, he has worked at Hardees and Arby's in Columbia City and Arby's, Burger King and Culver's in Fort Wayne and had been an assistant manager at KFC in Decatur. He had also been a rural carrier for the Journal Gazette. He was an avid sports fan with his passions being the Chicago Bears and Kyle Busch of NASCAR. He truly loved watching sports with his boys and having the opportunity to take them to NASCAR races. On February 23, 2008 he married Amber M. Johanns, who survives. Also surviving are his three sons, Triceson R. Bender, Tayden J.D. Bender and Tillman A. Bender, all of Churubusco; his mother and father, Colleen Hoffman of Columbia City and Daryl Bender of Fort Wayne; three siblings and a step sister, Greg Bender of Fort Wayne, Chelsea (Jason) Kuse, Joshua Franklin and Lindsey Franklin, all of Columbia City; his grandparents, Richard & Carol Hoffman and Wilma Bender, all of Columbia City; a nephew and two nieces; and several aunts and an uncle. He was preceded in death by a son, Trameon Andrew Bender; paternal grandfather, Charles Bender; and an uncle, Dean Allen Hoffman. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. The visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the final expense account payable to Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
