Carl E. Goldwood, age 73, of Columbia City, IN, died at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2007 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, IN. Born on June 16, 1934 in Wolfe Lake, IN, he was the son of Carol and Goldie (Wood) Goldwood.

A lifetime Whitley County resident, he attended Columbia City High School. On September 6, 1952, he was united in marriage to Opal E. Maggard. Employed as a supervisor by W.J. Carey Construction Company, he retired with 35 years of service in 1996.

He is survived by 3 sons, Kim (Mary) Goldwood of Larwill, IN, Kip (Rita) Goldwood and Kit (Ramona) Goldwood both of Columbia City, IN; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Max (Sharon) Goldwood and Barry Goldwood (Jan Strack) both of Columbia City, and Randy Goldwood of Missouri; sisters, Betty Simon of Larwill, IN and Penny Polly of Indianapolis, IN. His wife, Opal E. Goldwood, a brother, Donnie Goldwood, and a sister, Mary Kay Hartman, preceded him in death.

To honor Mr. Goldwood's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Memorial bequests may be given in his memory to Parkview Huntington-Whitley Home Health and Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
