Brenna Lynn Yontz, 54, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., passed away following a battle with cancer Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. Born Oct. 6, 1961, at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., she was the daughter of James F. and Deanna K. (Stretch) Ruble.

As a toddler, her family relocated to Fort Wayne where she was educated and was a graduate of Columbia City Joint High School. Brenna received her bachelor's degree in sociology and her master's degree in career and family counseling from Indiana University.

On June 9, 1984, she was united in marriage to Timothy Yontz in Fort Wayne. They were blessed with two children and recently celebrated their 31st anniversary.

Brenna was a member of Great Lakes Church in Kenosha, Wis., where she led growth groups and played mahjong and bunco with her church friends. She was also a member of the Kenosha Pops Band, playing the clarinet, and she selflessly volunteered her time with Habitat for Humanity.

Brenna will be remembered for her love for family. She loved the outdoors where she spent time vegetable and flower gardening, hiking and taking road trips. Brenna also had a passion for reading, cooking and loved to crochet.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Tim; son, Brent (Jill Jones); daughter, Bess (James) Bierly; her father, James F. Ruble; two brothers, Brian (Rochelle) and Bryce Ruble; and two sisters, Lorinda (Anthony) Lee and Linette (Sam) Manwaring. Brenna was further survived by several loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Deanna Kay Ruble.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be held in Marinette, Wis., at a later date.
