Lori L. Wells, age 50, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 1:35 p.m. at Parkview Hospital Fort Wayne. Born on May 18, 1960 in Milwaukee, WI, she was the daughter of Nancy (Davis) Yant and step-daughter of James Yant.

She moved with her family to Columbia City in 1974 and she graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the class of 1978. She attended IPFW where she studied accounting.

For 21 years she worked at Richard's Restaurant in Columbia City and then for three years she worked at Autoliv.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, James and Nancy Yant of Columbia City (Tri-Lakes); fiancé, Carlos Martinez of Columbia City; 2 daughters, Heather (Ryan) Sheley-Scott of Pierceton and Megan Wells of Cromwell, IN; 3 sisters, Kelly Andersen of Indianapolis, IN, Lisa Shuler of Columbia City, and Melissa (Gary) Hess of Danville, IN; and 2 grandsons, Wesley Sean Sheley of Pierceton and Austin David Wait of Columbia City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny M. Emery.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 3-7 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service is Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Curtiss Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at South Park (Annex) Cemetery, Columbia City, IN.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wesley Sheley and Austin Wait Education Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Please visit www.demoneygrimes.com to send family condolences or sign the guest register book.
