Notes:	Cheryl L. McDevitt, age 56, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 5:44 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home. Born July 9, 1955 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Robert Leon and Gloria Jean (Watson) Gibson. A lifetime Columbia City resident, she graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1973 and Ravenscroft Beauty College in 1980. On June 3, 1973, she was united in marriage to Keith D. McDevitt at Faith Baptist Church, by Pastor Morris Scutt. She was a hairstylist for 25 years; substitute teacher for 4 years; and recently retired as office manager of Speedway Sand and Gravel, Columbia City, where she had been employed for the past 4 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Whitley County Republican Party, Whitley County Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity, where she helped with the first home built by all women. She enjoyed camping, but her involvement with her grandchildren was her life joy. Survivors include her husband, Keith D. McDevitt of Columbia City; son, Aaron L. (Carla Mossburg) McDevitt of South Whitley; daughter, Jenee (Ryan) Nix of Columbia City; 7 grandchildren including, Grace McDevitt, Elijah McDevitt, Maycee Nix, Dinah McDevitt, Alison Mossburg, Kayla Mossburg and Malarie Nix; 1 brother, Matthew L. (Dianna) Gibson and 1 niece, April Gibson both of Columbia City. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the funeral home with Les Gamble and Pastor James Cress officiating. Burial will follow at Nolt Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. McDevitt to the scholarship funds of either Whitley County 4-H Inc. or Columbia City FFA. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. We have 2 grown children and 5 beautiful grandkids. Gracey aged 13, Elijah age 10, Maycee age 7, Dinah age 6, and bringing up the rear is little Miss Malarie 2. Blessings to ALL!
