Obituary from The Post and Mail:

David L. Rothgeb, 57, formerly of Columbia City, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2008 in Bradenton, FL. He was born October 31, 1950 in Fort Wayne, Indiana a son of Jay and Mary (Robinson) Rothgeb. His formative years were spent in Whitley County. He later moved to Bradenton, FL.

He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1969 and Indiana University. He served in the US Air Force receiving a medical discharge.

On June 24, 1983 he married Caryl Parks. They made their home in Fort Wayne and Bradenton, FL.

He was a respiratory therapist in both Fort Wayne, IN and Bradenton, FL .

His memberships were Boy Scouting for 30 years earning the Leader's Wood Badge; F. &. A. M. Lodge #31 in Bradenton, FL; Served as a Lay Minister in the Unity Church of Bradenton.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Caryl, two sons Michael (Jasmine) Rothgeb of Bradenton, FL; David (Angel) Clough of Huntertown, IN; daughter Bethany (Michael O'Neil) Clough of Buellton, CA; four grandchildren; his mother Mary Rothgeb of Columbia City; brother Byron (Karen) Rothgeb of Columbia City; two sisters Kay Cowdin of Columbia City; Patty (Bret) Elliot of Kendallville; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by infant daughter Jennifer Rothgeb and his father Jay Rothgeb.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 in Bradenton, FL. There will be calling and a time of remembering held on September 21, 2008 from 1 pm until 4 pm in the lounge of Grace Lutheran Church, 204 N. Main Street , Columbia City, IN.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
