Notes:	R. Kent Vanlandingham, 67, of Berne, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30 at Chalet Village. Kent was born in Muncie Dec. 13, 1947, the son of the late Jim and Shirley (Murry) Vanlandingham. On Dec. 5, 1992, he married Teresa Thornton and she survives. Kent grew up in Columbia City, graduated in 1966 from Columbia City High School and attended Ball State University. He also resided for a time in Anderson, Decatur and Geneva before moving to Berne. Having worked as a truck driver for many years, he was also employed at Dean Foods (formerly Driggs) and Arby's Restaurant in Decatur along with EP Graphics and Crystal Flash in Berne. He and his wife Teresa were also Journal Gazette carriers for several years. Among the greatest joys in Kent's life was spending time with his family including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved to visit lighthouses and spend time playing golf with his dad and his brothers. Surviving besides his wife, Teresa are his daughter, Teresa (Ezra) Lavy, of Convoy, Ohio; sons, Adam (Kelly) Vanlandingham, of Decatur and Mathew Vanlandingham, of Marion; grandchildren, Bethany (Joshua) Goff, of Lima, Ohio; Nathan, Zachary, Trina and Hannah Lavy, of Convoy, Ohio; AJ McCoy, of Michigan, Alexandria, of Decatur, Justin Burkholder, of Marion; great-grandsons, Gideon and Gabriel Goff, of Lima, Ohio; step-mother, Sharon (Liechty) Vanlandingham, of Columbia City; brothers, Tony (Laurie) Vanlandingham, of Decatur and Jeff (Sheila) Vanlandingham, of Columbia City, step-brother, John (Amy) Kolb, of Valparaiso; uncle, John Murry, of Palmdale, Calif.; step-aunt, Susan (Raymond) Christian, of North Judson; step-uncle, Michael D. Liechty, of Geneva; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Kent in death were his parents; paternal grandparents, Jim and Betty Vanlandingham; maternal grandparents, George and Mae Murry; and step-grandparents, E. Gordon and Myrtle Liechty. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, 365 W. Main St., Berne, with calling one hour prior to the service. Friends may also call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Bryant. Memorials may be made to Riley's Children's Hospital or the Adams County Foundation - Diabetes Association in Kent's name. Published in The Post and Mail on Dec. 2, 2015
