Joseph R. “Joe” Zickgraf II, 71, of Davenport, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 after a long illness.

Joe was predeceased by his father, Joseph Robert Zickgraf and mother, Julia Fryer Zickgraf and brother Michael. He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on September 17, 1947 and raised in Columbia City, Indiana.

Joe was an avid reader, especially of science fiction; loved to grow flowers and vegetable gardens and enjoyed interactive computer games. He was a recognized and published expert in metal finishing, electroplating and powder coating processes.

He is survived by wife of 35 years, Bonnie Lynn Zickgraf of Davenport, FL (and his dog, Houston), his three sons, Robert Alan Zickgraf and wife, Denise of Mt. Juliet, TN, Thomas Wayne Zickgraf and partner, Kevin Wu of San Francisco, California and Jeffrey David Nagle and wife, Marie of Noblesville, IN., one sister, Susan (Zickgraf) and husband John Kasper of Wimberly, Texas, his five brothers; Anthony and wife Debbie Zickgraf of Columbia City, Indiana, Patrick and wife, Kristen Zickgraf of Columbia City, Indiana, Charles Zickgraf and wife, Roxanne of Churubusco, Indiana, Dominic and wife, Becky Zickgraf of San Antonio, Texas and John Zickgraf (and friend, Petra Chase) of Redding, California. Also survived by six granddaughters; Elizabeth, Victoria, Madison, Bridget, Gretchen and Clare; one grandson, Garrett; and one great grandson, Joey. A Celebration of Life and reflections of Joe’s journey will be held at 1PM on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, 803 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, FL. Family, friends and flowers are all welcome to attend services.
