Notes:	Phyllis Jean Schmidt, 73, of Fort Wayne [Indiana] passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020. She was born October 7, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Allen County, IN, to Max Jay & Elma Cecilia (Hauter) Lawrence. Her formative years were spent in rural Whitley County, graduating from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1965. She attended Indiana Business College. Phyllis spent much of her working career at RR Donnelly & Sons Lakeside Press in Warsaw, IN, where she became an Office Administrator in Shipping. She later moved to Fort Wayne After her retirement she was a “Visiting Angel” for people in Hospice. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Leslie) Grayson of Knoxville, TN and son, Scott (Terri) Irons of Auburn, IN; grandchildren, Meagan Sprouse, Jonas Grayson and Ashley Irons; sisters, Patricia (Thomas) Hutton of Republic, MO, Judy Folse of Coloma, MI and Vicki (Jack) Lemler of Columbia City; brothers, James (Joan) Lawrence of Fort Wayne, Joseph (Julie) Lawrence of Fort Wayne and Richard (Laura) Lawrence of Fayetteville, AR. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Carol Brown; and brother, John Lawrence. Cremation arrangements were made by Midwest Funeral Home and Cremation Society of Fort Wayne.
