Notes:	JoAnna J. Peirce, 60, of Chicago, Ill., was found dead after suffering a massive heart attack at her home on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004. Born in Columbia City on Jan. 11, 1943, a daughter of LeRoy Dale and Dortha May (Shearer) Putman, she graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1961. She grew up in Washington Township, Whitley County, then spent the rest of her life in the Batavia-Geneva, Ill. area until retirement, then eventually moving into Chicago in June. She was formerly married to George Peirce. She worked at United Airlines as a flight attendant from 1961 until her retirement in 2002. Survivors include a brother, Jerald W. (Carol) Putman of Columbia City; a sister, Linda Frank of Fort Wayne; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, a nephew and her mother, Dortha May Putman, who died Jan. 11, 2004. Joint visitation for Mrs. Peirce and her mother is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Park Drive, Columbia City. A joint funeral service is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Zolman of Merriam Christian Chapel Church officiating. Burial is at Jefferson Chapel (Sand Bank) Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Peirce's memory to American Heart Association, Oak Grove Church of God, or Gideon's International. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
