Thomas L. Fahl, 63, of Larwill, died at 2:48 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at the VA Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born on Jan. 22, 1942, a son of George A. and Opal P. (Snyder) Fahl, he graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1960.

A lifelong Whitley County resident, he served in the U.S. Marines.

His marriage to Cindy E. Hunter took place on Aug. 8, 1998, in Columbia City.

A member of the Leatherneck Coffee Club, American Legion and VFW in Columbia City, he worked for 20 years at Navistar International in Fort Wayne.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; a daughter, Chris Fahl and a son, Carson L. Fahl, both of Mishawaka; two brothers, Robert E. Fahl of Columbia City and M. Russel Fahl of Warsaw; four sisters, Bonnie J. Merriman of Fort Wayne; Shirley A. Fahl of Jacksonville, Ala.; Sandra Rarick of Columbia City and Norma J. Sotendahl of Austin, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence and Richard Fahl, and two sisters, Mary Burne and Charlotte McClain.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m Thursday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. The funeral service is at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip Blake officiating. Burial is at South Park (Annex) Cemetery, Columbia City.

Memorial bequests may be given in Mr. Fahl's memory to the American Diabetes Association or the Leatherneck Coffee Club. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
