Notes:	DONALD W. ECKERT, 74, of Albion [Indiana], passed away on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, 7:30 a.m., at North Ridge Nursing Home, Albion. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1979 after 20 years. He was a life time member of the Gilbert Davis American Legion Post 157. The surviving relatives include his wife of 30 years, Barbara Eckert of Albion; children, Christina (Doug) Hensley of Albion, Lisa (Ken) Baker of New Haven, Tracie Eckert and Debbie (Kevin) Johnson, both of Fort Wayne, and Rick (Christy) Kanis of Churubusco; sister, Barbara (Lynn) Knisley of Churubusco; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Timothy Allen Johnson. Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Green Center United Methodist Church, with calling one hour prior. Pastor John Shell officiating. The family will also receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home. For those who wish, memorials may be directed to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
