Dennie Gene Lemmon, 68, of Warsaw died at 9:35 a.m. on Fri., Feb. 25 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.

Born in Columbia City on Sept. 12, 1936, he was a son of Philip and Merle I. (Plummer) Lemmon.

He graduated with the class of 1954 from Columbia City High School. He served for six years in the U.S. Marine and Army Reserve.

He was first employed by LML, S&L Truck Stop in Columbia City for 23 and a half years. He was semi-retired as a driver for Depuy, and his last employment was in the maintenance department of Leisure Living in Milford.

He served as a volunteer for the Columbia City Fire Department and was a member of the Pierceton United Methodist Church. His first marriage was to Joy Joan Brown on June 11, 1955. His second marriage was to Anne Christine Tague on Aug. 9, 1997, in Pierceton.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Christine Lemmon of Warsaw; two daughters, Jill (Dana) Burgess of Columbia City and Janel (Edward) Hover of Warsaw; three step-daughters, Shiela (James) Juchs of Reisterstown, Mass., Jennifer Mudrack of Fort Wayne and Amanda Mudrack of Warsaw; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Philip Dean (Ann) Lemmon and Jerry L. Lemmon both of Columbia City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jody Gene Lemmon on April 11, 2004.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 27, 2005 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Mon., Feb. 28, 2005, at the funeral home with Pastor Diane Siegel of Pierceton United Methodist Church and Pastor Noble Pulsipher of Reflections of Christ Ministries officiating. Burial will be at Eberhard Lutheran Cemetery in Columbia City.

Memorials may be given in Mr. Lemmon's memory to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
