A devoted mother and grandmother, nothing meant more to her in life than Mildred Ann Enyeart's family. She was loving, liked to laugh and joke with you and put you before herself. A hard working lady, she raised two boys on her own as she worked full time.

Born June 6, 1932 in Whitley County, she was the youngest daughter of Willard E. and Gladys A. (Geiger) Walker. By the age of 12, her mom passed away and her older brother Jack helped raise her. Mildred went on to graduate from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1951. Following high school, she lived in Fort Wayne and Ossian before moving back to Columbia City in 1956.

Knowing what it was like to have a step-mother growing up; Mildred made it a priority to raise her two sons on her own until they were grown up. During this time she worked at Montgomery Ward, Barkley American and Citizens Bank, retiring in 1990 as a Switchboard Operator.

Through a friend of hers, Mildred was introduced to John Enyeart and the two would be married on July 9, 1983 in South Whitley.

One of life's biggest rewards for her raising her sons was becoming a grandmother! She loved having grandchildren and after she retired she had the opportunity to watch her young granddaughter during the daytime. She enjoyed having coffee with friends and of course going shopping with them. Relaxation was found in a good romance novel and being one who loved reading, she read all of Danielle Steel's novels. Another comfort and love for her was her dog, Winki and cat, Brandy.
