Carol G. Bower, 84, died of Alzheimer's on April 7, 2018, at home [Clemmons, NC] surrounded by her family. Carol was born October 10, 1933 in Whitley County, Indiana to Earl and Zora Gipe.

She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1951. She worked at Lincoln Life Insurance Company in Fort Wayne, IN, until she married H. James (Jim) Bower in 1955 and the couple had four children.

She and her husband moved to Clemmons, NC in 1980 with 3 of their children. Carol and her family were members of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she enjoyed working on the grounds. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. As her niece Kristy described Carol, "She was an adorable woman inside and out. She was full of sparkle, energy, and positivity." "Carol had a smile that lit up the room."

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bill; sisters: Evelyn, Eileen, Helen and Bonita. She is survived by her sister, Dortha Mae. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Jim; son, Hal (Monica); daughters: Beth Bower, Angie (Bo) Ogburn, Sandy (John) Bullock; 10 grandchildren: Nick Bower, Zach (Lauren) Bower, Greg (Kelly) Bower, Laura (Andrew) Lee; Kylie, Colin and KC Ogbum; Harrison, Michael, and Gabriel Bullock; and 6 great-grandchildren: Caleb and Lucy Bower; Jocelyn Carter, Kylie Bower, Carson Bower and Oliver Lee.

A Memorial Mass will be held 1:30pm, Friday, April 13 at Holy Family Catholic Church. No flowers please, donations can be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care. Thanks to Dr. Helman for his assistance and a special thanks to Hospice for their loving care during these last few months.
