Jerry Lee Armel
November 11th 1933-April 5th 2012

Jerry went home to be with his Heavenly Father after battling cancer. He was born in Columbia City Indiana, and moved to Arizona in 1957. He has strong roots in Arizona where he raised his Family.

Jerry was a cabinet maker by trade and a great business man. Jerry made a lot of true friends in the journey of his life and a lot of memories along the way. Everyone who knew Jerry had a best friend for life. He was a believer in the importance of enjoying and appreciating life, and he designed his life to live it in a way that enabled him to live in happiness and comradery.

Jerry was a true Gentleman and whole heartily enjoyed what he considered the real Treasures of Life!! Jerry helped people who needed help that never even asked for it; he did it out of the kindness of his heart because it was the right thing to do.

He loved spending time with family and friends and of course his beloved Dog Lily. Jerry loved the outdoors whether it was Golfing, Fishing, Hunting or Snow Skiing. But most of all he loved what he did for the Lord. His quiet influence spoke volumes and could move mountains. He was never boastful (unless it was a low round of golf) and always comfortable in any situation. He was fun loving and charismatic and had a wonderful gift of listening.

Jerry married his High School sweetheart on June 22nd 1952, the great Love of his life, and on June 22nd 2012 would have been married 60 Years.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, George and mother, Gladys as well as a great grandson, Jon David Rea. He is survived by the Love of his life his wife, Barbara Armel; his son, Lon Armel (Joan), as well as by his son, Jon Armel (Linda) and daughter, Suzanne Unger (Frank); sister Gloria Aumsbaugh and sister-in-law, Sharon Sherling (Billy); along with 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; as well as by many nieces and nephews.

The service for Jerry will be held on Friday April 13th at Camelback Bible Church, 3900 East Stanford Dr. Paradise Valley, Arizona 85253. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. and the Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Burial to be for immediate family members only at Green Acres Cemetery. The family asks in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Camelback Bible Church Building Fund or to the Salvation Army or The Arizona Humane Society. Thank you very much. The Family would like to Thank Hospice of the Valley for all the care you gave to our beloved Jerry and to all of our family.
