Marilyn A. Shenfeld, 86, formerly of Tri-Lakes died at 2:17 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at North Ridge Village, Albion [Indiana] where she had been a resident since January.

She was born August 24, 1931 in Warsaw, Indiana a daughter of the late Angus and Mayme Fern (Grubbs) Holbrook. At the age of 4, the family moved to Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1949.

On December 27, 1974 she was united in marriage to Frank McNeil Shenfeld. They have always made their home at Tri-Lakes.

For 23 years, she worked for Dana Corporation, Churubusco in their human resource department. Following her retirement, she owned and operated The Craft Nook at Tri-Lakes selling crafts and craft supplies.

When she was not crafting or quilting, she like to spend time on the water fishing. She took great joy in being with her grandchildren. A talented dancer, she and her husband regularly danced at area locations performing ballroom dancing to disco dancing.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; 3 children, Penny L. North of Fort Wayne, Randy G. Baughman of Clearwater, FL and Barbara (Jack) Urhausen of Columbia City, 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Targgart of Columbia City.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marla Purisch; a son, Kevin Baughman; a step-daughter, Kimberly Shenfeld; and two brothers, Charles and Larry Holbrook.

The funeral service will be 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery at Merriam. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Heart to Heart Hospice, Fort Wayne.
