Born in Columbia City on May 14, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Bonita Faye (Clawson) Stickler. Raised in Columbia City, she graduated from Columbia City High School in 1944.

On September 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Eldon L. Zumbrun by the late Rev. Marion Shroyer. They lived their married life in the Columbia City area. Eldon died on August 15, 1993.

She began her work career at Fort Wayne National Bank for two years, then 41 years at Weatherhead-Dana as a senior clerk retiring in 1987. After the death of Eldon, she was asked to come back to then C.F. Goma/Dana, where she worked an additional ten years. During her employment, she was the secretary of the Weatherhead Pioneer Club.

She belonged to the AARP, serving as treasurer for three years, vice-president for one year, and a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Always active, Jeanette volunteered at the Senior Citizen’s Center, where she assisted with office duties and served as a receptionist for seven years until the COVID restrictions. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially through the western United States. For years she participated in the local Woman’s Bowling League, and every Monday was her Euchre Club games. She enjoyed collecting cardinal/redbird figures and had them throughout her home.
