Arlis Gamble, age 82, died at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Columbia City, IN on October 2, 1924 to Thomas A. and M. Ruth (Pritchard) Dunn.

She spent her entire lifetime in the Columbia City area, graduating from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1942. She then married Paul E. Gamble on September 21, 1945 at First Church of God, corner of Washington and Jackson Streets, Columbia City, IN.

She first worked at Blue Bell, then at Oriental Show You Company and for over 22 years she was employed with Mutual Security Life Insurance Company, Fort Wayne.

Her memberships include, First Church of God, where she loved to serve her Lord, singing in the choir, later becoming the director of the choir, many years as a Sunday School teacher and she also served as the Sunday School Superintendent. She also was a long time member of the Christian Business and Professional Women's Club, Fort Wayne. Arlis was an avid collector of plates, Thomas Kinkade artwork, Precious Moments and she was a member of the P. Buckley Moss Collector's Club.

She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Gamble of Columbia City, IN; 1 daughter, Sandy (Paul R.) Kayser of Fort Wayne, IN; 4 grandchildren, including, Kelly I. Kellen, Sarah K. (Duane) Shipley, Samuel A. (Melanie) Kayser and Elizabeth A. Kayser all of Fort Wayne, IN; 1 sister, M. Maxine (Donald E.) Culbertson, Columbia City, IN; 2 brothers, Rev. Gail Dunn of Harrisburg, PA and Robert G. (Jean) Dunn of Larwill, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Lois A. Dunn, 5 months old, Elaine B. Anderson and 1 brother, Samuel Jack Dunn, 13 year old.

Visitation will be held from 2-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007 at First Church of God, 1200 W. DePoy Drive, Columbia City with Pastor Penny Mosher, Pastor of Congregational Care, officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery Annex, Columbia City, IN.
