Evelyn L. Cramer, 82, died at 1:35 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2006, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse.

Born on Jan. 16, 1924, in Etna Township, Whitley County, she was a daughter of Paul and Iva (Eme) McElroy. She was a 1942 graduate of Columbia City High School and from Warner Beauty School in 1961.

On Nov. 20, 1942, she was married to Gerald E. Cramer. He died in 1989.

A lifelong area resident, she worked for Liberty Homes in the office and retired from Chore-Time Brock where she also worked in the office.

A member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, she was involved in several social circles. She was past president of United Methodist Women's Club, a worthy matron, Order of the Eastern Star and was involved in the Junior Mother's Club of Syracuse. She was also a volunteer at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki J. Bloom of Richmond, Va., and Marie A. (Robert) Hiney of Syracuse; three grandchildren; six grandchildren; a sister, Marceil (Robert) A. Whittier of Sun City, Calif.; and two nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Cramer.

A graveside service is at 1 p.m. Friday, May 26, at South Park Cemetery, Columbia City, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating.

No visitation is planned.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse.
