Elizabeth Fyfe Faragher, passed away peacefully at her home, Brookdale of Farmington on August 18, 2018. She was 96.

Elizabeth was born in Glasgow, Scotland on May 23, 1922 and in 1923 came to the United States with her parents. That move was the beginning of many moves throughout her life, which could be the reason for her lifelong wanderlust.

Elizabeth graduated in 1944 from Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, OH with a B.A. in English and Drama. She was a high school English, Speech and Drama teacher. After her husband's death, she came out of retirement and was a regular substitute teacher for Avon Public Schools. She substituted for grades pre-K to sixth grade. At 85 family and friends joked she was probably Avon's oldest substitute teacher. She loved and enjoyed every moment.

In 1947 she married William P. Faragher and they were fortunate enough to celebrate 50 wonderful years together. She had one son William B. Faragher, and had one granddaughter Megan Elizabeth whom she loved dearly.

One of Elizabeth's greatest achievements was becoming a published author at age 85. Her book "Off To The Fair" was a story about her beloved granddaughter.

Elizabeth was a very active senior citizen and volunteer. While living at Brookdale of Farmington, she was on the Resident Council, the Welcoming Committee, and the Gables Gazette newspaper. She also participated in many other volunteer opportunities. She was a valuable contributor to the book club, trivia games, poetry writing and discussion groups. She was also a longtime volunteer at Farmington Valley Art Center. She loved music and playing her organ. She loved to learn new things, traveling and meeting new people. She continued to look at River Viking Cruise catalogs trying to fit in a cruise down the Danube one last time. Elizabeth made numerous friendships over the years and from all the cards she kept, they meant very much to her.

Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband, William P. Faragher and her son, William B. Faragher. She is survived by her granddaughter, Megan, daughter-in-law, Terri Faragher of Burlington and her cousin, Christine Moore and family from Rye, NY. She is also survived by the many wonderful friends whom she met along the way. Thanks for the memories dear friends!

There will be a celebration of her life on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 2:00pm at Brookdale of Farmington, 20 Devonwood Dr., Farmington. Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc., www.ahernfuneralhome.com.
